Reflective Journal #TwelfthWeek

Liana Riani Ramli
Reflective Journal
May 19th, 2017

Hello everybody! Meet me again, and I think this is supposed to be the last reflective I make for this semester, Liana. If my estimation is true, than this will be the last task too for me. And it means only one week before Final Test.

For the last theme, I chose to use "Myth and Fact". Therefore, many people always think something that usually doesn't make any sense, and I don't like it a little bit. We live in the modern era, why would you still believe what your great grandmother's great grandmother's grandmother and endless words without any evidence? We can search facts in the internet unlimited, and we can distinguish which one is the correct. So, start from know, think first before you believe it.

Thank you so much for keep reading my blog.

The Facts of Exercising

Liana Riani
Daily Journal
May 18th, 2017

Doing exercise is usually what people do when they want to keep their health or just want to lose weight. But, sometime they didn't do it in the correct way. The common exercise is running in the daylight while wearing a jacket, so it will make quick weight down. But do you know it's not effective? The fact is the air during noon is easier to make sweats and jackets will make the body more heat. But, what missing is not fat, but body fluids. This habit will make other body organs such as heart and kidneys disturbed. Because the lack of fluids make blood thickens. The heart and kidneys also work harder pumping and filtering blood. The other misconception about exercising is the more you exercise, the better. Sports do not always have to be heavy, sweating is not necessarily good. Exercise, as well as medicine, should be optimal. Type, frequency, and intensity are more important to achieve goals. That's why, you should do the right exercise, so you won't waste too much energy and time too.

Healthy Food is not Actually Healthy

Liana Riani Ramli
Daily Journal
May 18t, 2017

So many preceptions about healthy food that are told by old people. Are those ideas true? Or those just mere talk? Let's find it out! That vitamin C can keep someone from catching cold is common knowledge for some people, and there are some statements which support it. The truth is vitamin C has no connection in making cold better at all. The other "fact" is that raw carrot is more nutritious thay the cooked one. Actually, cooking increases the nutritional value of carrot. The process breaks down the tough cellular walls that encase the beta-carotene. The last but not least, they say to minimize fat and calories always remove the skin before cooking chicken. The correct fact is baking, broiling, grilling, or roasting poultry with the skin intact helps preserve its natural juices. Cook with the skin—and then remove before serving.

Mthys about Sleeping

Liana Riani Ramli
Daily Journal
May 17th, 2017

There are many common myths about sleep. Sometimes they can be characterized as "old wives tales," but there are other times the incorrect information can be serious and even dangerous. The National Sleep Foundation has compiled this list of common myths about sleep, and the facts that dispel them. One of those many myth is that snoring is a common problem, especially among men, but it isn't harmfulm. Although snoring may be harmless for most people, it can be a symptom of a life threatening sleep disorder called sleep apnea (pauses in breathing that prevent air from flowing into or out of a sleeping person’s airways), especially if it is accompanied by severe daytime sleepiness. People with sleep apnea awaken frequently during the night gasping for breath. The breathing pauses reduce blood oxygen levels, can strain the heart and cardiovascular system, and increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Snoring on a frequent or regular basis has been directly associated with hypertension. Sleep apnea can be treated; men and women who snore loudly, especially if pauses in the snoring are noted, should consult a physician. In conclusion, the myth about snoring is not dangerous is false.

About Tea You Must Know

Liana Riani Ramli
Daily Journal
May 16th, 2017

There are many kinds of tea out there, like green tea, oolong tea, earl grey tea, lemon tea, jasmine tea, and ect. Sometimes people just like only a flavor, some they do not really care what the taste is,  and some prefer not to drink any. They said that green tea can make someone slimmer. Some people said that tea contains too much caffeine which will made you addicted. The others said tea cannot be boiled too long because the Vitamin C would evaporate. Are all those statement true? About the green tea, it's true, but you can get the effect when you drink it before eating carbohydrates only. This is because in green tea contained tannin and katekin compounds can prevent the absorption of carbohydrates that enter the body and will come out through the feces. The next is the content of caffeine in tea is much higher than coffee for the same amount of volume, tea (4%) and coffee (1.2-1.4%). However, side effects in caffeine in tea baseball to make addiction. The last is the content of vitamin C in tea is very little, so it does not give much influence to the body. But actually from the results of steeping tea is not vitamin C is perceived benefits, but the content of polyphenols that have a positive impact on the body, which works as an antioxidant (neutralize free radicals trigger cancer). Those are the true facts about tea.

Is Monosodium Glutamate Bad?

Liana Riani Ramli
Daily Journal
May 15th, 2017

Common people always create many thought about something they do not really know without knowing wheter it's true or not. Just like about monosodium glutamate or usually called MSG. MSG itselft is food flavoring which it made from many ingredients. MSG is composed of 78% Glutamate, 12% Sodium and 10% water. High content of glutamate is what causes a savory taste in all kinds of cuisine. Because the making of MSG is through chemical process, people start to think that MSG is not good for their health, and MSG is just one of many junk food. People often say that consuming too much MSG will make someone suffer from cancer. The truth is, consuming food flavoring won't kill somebody, as long as they didn't eat too much. Something too much always lead you to something bad. An optimum point of savory taste that can be felt by someone, that is maximum 5 grams / day. Eat less than 5 grams MSG every day, you'll be okay.

An explosion at a fireworks warehouse in Mexico has killed at least 14 people, all but three of them children, in a poor Mexican village as it celebrated a religious festival. The blast occurred Monday night in a rural area of central Puebla state, Diodoro Carrasco, a senior official in the state government, told the radio station Cinco Radio. He said as many as 11 of the fatalities might be minors. The explosion in the village of San Isidro, 170 miles (270 km) east of Mexico City, came during preparations for a religious festival on 15 May, the state government said. It said the fireworks had been stored inside a home behind a church ahead of a May 15 religious celebration, and the firecracker that set off the explosion was launched by someone outside. The home was destroyed. Eleven of those killed “were minors aged between four and 15”, the statement said. Nine people were killed on the spot and five others died later in hospital. The explosion left 22 people injured, including three children who were in serious condition, an official in the state governor’s office, Javier Lozano, told reporters. Army troops and government officials cordoned off the blast site as ambulances rush in to collect the wounded. The state governor, Antonio Gali Fayad, who plans to visit the scene of the accident, expressed his condolences overnight Monday as the scope of the tragedy became clear. Accidents involving the manufacture of fireworks are common in Mexico.

Strawberry

Liana Riani Ramli
Daily Journal
May 5th, 2017

Strawberry is cultivated worldwide for its fruit. This fruit is widely appreciated for its characteristic aroma, bright red color, juicy texture, and sweetness. It is consumed in large quantities, either fresh or in such prepared foods as preserves,  fruitjuice and milkshakes. Artificial strawberry flavorings and aromas are also widely used in many products like lip gloss, candy, hand sanitizers, perfume, and many others. The garden strawberry was first bred in Brittany, France, in the 1750s via a cross of Fragaria virginiana from eastern North America and Fragarua chiloensis, which was brought from Chile by Amédée-François Frézier in 1714. Cultivars of Fragaria ×ananassa have replaced, in commercial production, the woodland strawberry (Fragaria verga), which was the first strawberry species cultivated in the early 17th century. Technically, the strawberry is an aggregate accessory fruit, meaning that the fleshy part is derived not from the plant's ovaries but from the receptacle that holds the ovaries. Each apparent "seed" on the outside of the fruit is actually one of the ovaries of the flower, with a seed inside it.

Many people love eating pudding because of the sweet taste and the thickness. But as the world has changed, pudding has many new variations. Pudding is not only made from seaweeds, but also from gelatine. The texture of the pudding that is made from gelatine sometimes is chewier than the pudding which is made from seaweeds.  There are some recipes that puddings are mixed with staple food too, like rice, bread and noodle. It's quite strange, but many people love to eat those kind of puddings.

Although I can just watch it from far away, even just from the internet, I'm still happy to write about husky in my blog.

Life Expectancy

Liana Riani Ramli
Daily Journal
April 26th, 2017

Can live in long time is grace from God for people. But, in this modern life, people can also predict how long people will live in this world. In Indonesia, life expectancy has risen year to year. The rising age from 68.6 year-old in 2004 to 70.8 year-old in 2015 makes the number of retirement increase. The average number of life expectancy in Singapore is 83.1 year-old. As for Spain, the women's life expectancy is higher than the men's with the number 85.6 year-old for women and 79.6 year-old for men. Just like in Spain, the men's life expectancy is lower than the women's in Japan. The average number of the country that has many cultures is 83.7 year-old, 80.2 year-old for the man and 87.2 year-old for the women. Those all the prediction of the life expectancy in some countries.

Between Human and Phone

Liana Riani Ramli
Daily Journal
April 25th, 2017

Many people spend more hours of the day using laptops and phones than they do asleep, even though these activities will be bad for their health. A survey has revealed, people spend an average of 8 hours 21 minutes sleeping a day - but spend an average of 8 hours 41 minutes on media devices. 81% of smartphone users have their phones switched on all the time, even in the bed. They also spend more time each morning checking emails and using the internet than eating breakfast or taking care of their appearance. This kind of lifestyle will have a direct effect on people's health. Lacking of sleep can lead to a weakened immune system and an increased risk of heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes. Dr. Nerina Ramlakhan, a sleep and energy coach, advises turning off all techonological devices at least 60-90 minutes before going to sleep in order to give the mind time to wind down. Bedroom is one of the most important factors when it comes to getting a great night's sleep.

The Rise Number of Children's Obesity

Liana Riani Ramli
Daily Journal
April 24th, 2017

Many children have been suffered by obesity. Formal national records have been kept since 1995, and these now show that 19% of 10-11 years old children are obese. Even among younger children, the rates of obesity are shocking, with one in ten reception-age children classed as obese. If overweight children are also included, the figures show that around 1 in 3 children is overweight. In the 1980s, the number of obese children was only 2%, but within a decade these figures had almost doubled. The food and drink (cheap, energy-dense, and nutrient-poor foods and drink), reduced activity and living in 'obesogenic' environment are the factors to make the obesity epidemic long last until today. Then, how to stop children from obesity? The answer is quite simple. Even with small changes can slow down the rate of weight gain. Not only losing weight, but also will help children to achieve a healthy weight for height. The first is eating healthy meals and doing fun physical activities. Encouraging 60 minutes of physical activity a day is good too, but it's not necessary to do it all at one. Also, healty meals and child-sized portions will be a great combination, so the children wouldn't eat too much food. If the children follow these steps, they could reduce the possibility of being obesity children.

Reflective Journal #SeventhWeek

Liana Riani Ramli
Reflective Journal
April 14th, 2017

Hello, it's been a while since the last reflective journal, it's already more than one month! Still, I really miss the time I did not need to write anything. Because the mid-term exam was over, I'm quite lazy to do any other tasks. Was I this lazy before? I don't know. I'll try my best to be more enthusiastic in studying from now on.

Due to my lack idea of what I should write this week, I picked a really random topic in the first blog I wrote this week, about pasta. I actually wanted to try to write about beaches around the world, but I was bored with something related to tourism, it would make me wanting more holiday. I watched a drama before, I love the Maple trees that shows in that drama, so I thought I would write about it. But in the second thought, too many contents in only one tree, and I didn't what I should write first. I changed the topic again, and I suddenly thought about spaghetti and finally, I chose pasta as the main idea.

Because of the first blog of this week was about pasta, so I made up my mind to make the theme of this week is about staple food. The next post was about rice, corn, sorghum, and bread. I don't know that sorghum is actually a staple food. Because the development of sorghum in Indonesia is not so big and not many people in Indonesia know it. And there is more staple food I didn't write. Potatoes, sago, cassavas, nuts, yams, and etc, but I preferred to write what I've already known about, so I chose those topics in this week. Even though this week theme is quite general information, I wish it will still useful for everyone who reads my blog.

Rice as the Staple Food

Liana Riani Ramli
Daily Journal
April 11th, 2017

Rice is the most widely consumed staple food for a large part of the human population in the world, especially in Asia. For Japanese people, rice is eaten as a staple food with side dishes like fish or meat, some vegetable, and soup. Japonica, the most widely grown type of rice in Japan, has a sticky texture that made it easier to eat the rice with a chopstick. This kind of rice is mostly consumed by Japanese, Korean, and Taiwanese. Slightly different from Japan, in Thailand, a grain of rice is made into dessert. Khao niaow ma muang, a mango sticky rice, is the favorite desert in Thailand uses rice as the ingredient. Even though rice is the most important grain with regard to human nutrition and calorie intake, it's not the staple food for Europeans. They prefer to eat bread, potatoes, meat, or another protein food because paddy in there can not grow as good as in Asia. Indeed, although not everyone eats rice as the main dish, it still becomes the most eaten staple food in the world.

Facts about Pasta

Liana Riani Ramli
Daily Journal
April 10th, 2017

Pasta is a staple food of traditional Italian cuisine. This delicious Italian noodle that made from a wheat flour mixed with water or eggs and cooked by boiling or baking it has not much known by people. The first fact is that pasta was first eaten in China, not in Italy. It's not shocking fact because actually Chinese people use to eat noodle as much as Italian people do. The next fact is according to the International Pasta Organization, there are more than 600 different shapes of pasta produced throughout the world. The varieties are long pasta, short pasta, minute pasta, pasta all'uovo, fresh pasta and pasta al fomo. For American, the most favorite pasta is spaghetti, penne, and rotini, according to 2013 Barilla World Pasta Day. And the last fact about pasta is eating that delicious dish can make someone be happier. The carbohydrates in pasta increase the body's production of serotonin that scientists believe trigger feelings of happiness and well-being.

Reflective Journal #SixthWeek

Liana Riani Ramli
Reflective Journal
March 10th, 2017

Hello! Thank you for reading my blog, the blog of today is supposed to be the last blog I post before Mid-term Test. Finally, I have no more task or assigment before test. I wish everybody who attend tommorow test will get the best scores.

The theme of this week is 'Health', as you can read, every post in this week talk about what goods for human body. I actually got those articles from internet, whether those trustworthy or not, I don't even know myself. But I wish all of this week blog, and all of my posts I have uploaded, will be useful for everyone who read them.

In the past six weeks, I have written six different topics, from 'Why', 'World Issue', 'Japanese Culture', 'Humam Conflict',
'Indonesia', and the last is 'Health'. Before, in Reflective Journal #FirstWeek, I said that I liked my post 'Why There are so Many Languages' the best. Right now, my favorite article is 'Different Places, Different  Languages, Different Accents' because from that article I know even more that languages in Indonesia are so rich. But, to learn all of them is quite difficult, or it's too hard to study those languages. But, still, I wish I can learn about them a little.

From my 34 articles I've posted, only the last two weeks I've applied my lecturer's lesson in Writing A. Making a topic sentences, supporting sentences, and a concluding sentence in a paragraph are the steps to make a good paragraph. Before, I didn't use those steps because I don't know how to use them in formal articles like news. A few of my articles use those steps because they talk about facts, and I can describe the fact, so I can use them.

Overall, I think my assigment blog is quite good. I wish my blog and all my friends' blog get the highest score, according to what we have done.

Too Much Sweet, Too Many Problems

Liana Riani Ramli
Daily Journal
March 9th, 2017

Sweet things are not always as great as their taste. Eating too much sugar can bring unnecessary problems. Just like a drug, eating sweet stuffs like candy, ice cream or sweetened coffee will make the desire to eat more and more sweet built up. The sugary food that enters the body will cause the blood sugar level increase. As a result, without sugar, body and brain will search more sugary food and intake of protein and fiber will be lesser. This will also disturb the daily mood. The happiness feeling from eating sweet things will always change the mood drastically to the better one. But, if the sweetness not fulfilled, the mood will get worse. Eating sweet food too often can produce tartar on teeth. For human skin, sweetness will grow pimples and make the skin oily. Stop eating too much sweet, is not as sweet as you think.

March 7th, 2017

Having problem in your sleeping time? Here are some solutions that can help you to get enough sleep. First, try to drink milk taken from cows at night. A higher level of trytophan should make you drift into dreamland. Eating food that contains melatonin like almond, sunflower seeds, cherries and flax seeds is another easy way to encourage drowsiness before bed.Working out, of course not before you sleep, will set yourself up for a good. Not need to be training for a marathon to get better rest, just brisk walking or resistance training is enough. Put your phone down is also a way to get more sleep. The blue light from the screen can make your eyes stay awake, it suppress the production of melatonin. Even if you use the bluelight filter, the phone contents always more interesting than dreams in your sleep, it will make you lost interest to sleep right away. Last, stop smoking before you sleep. The cigarette smokers experience feelings of withdrawal when they are trying to sleep at night. As a result, those  tips above can solve your sleeping problem.

Reflective Journal #FifthWeek

Liana Riani Ramli
Reflective Journal
March 3rd, 2017

Hello everyone. This weekly journal is going to be my 30th blog I've posted. Thank you very much keep reading my blog. This time I wrote about Indonesia, our lovely and beloved country. For your information, the second country I love the most is Japan, I already posted about Japan two weeks ago, on the third week. Don't forget to read and give comments, okay?

About Indonesia, I actually don't really know about Indonesia, even though it's my own country. It's a quite shameful fact about me, but I can't help it. I chose this topic because I wanted to know more about Indonesia, so I could be motivated to finish this assignment. I think the common things about Indonesia are batik, traditional food, beaches, and spices. I wanted to write about something uncommon, but there is no way someone uploaded something in Internet would not become popular. So, I tried to use something is common but not really popular. Just like mosques, rainforest, and local languages. The most difficult part is local languages. I know there are so many local languages in Indonesia, but I didn't think it would be more than 100. I've tried to search about the differences, but it was hard search about it. Just like what I said before, I wanted to write about something unpopular, but how could I write about it if I couldn't find any single clue even it is in the Internet? There is no way I would learn the languages from all areas around Indonesia directly, at least for now, I couldn't. If you think my writing about local languages is messy, please accept my apologize. I really should learn more about Indonesia.

What Makes Tropical Rainforest Different

Liana Riani Ramli
Daily Journal
March 3rd, 2017

Tropical rainforest has special characteristics which distinguishes it from other forests. Tropical rainforest has tall stems. It's leafy too, because every year the rainforest gets sunlight that makes the trees can grow optimally. High and consistent rainfall every year are the reason why the land of the tropical rainforest saves more water reverses than the other forests. The evaporating of the water of the leafs to the atmosphere makes the level of air humidity increase. Provided that the tropical rainforest is too leafy, the sunlight can not reach the bottom of the forest. The water on the ground do not evaporate. The moist ground makes many mosses and fungi grow rapidly. Tropical rainforest can regenerate trees by themselves. If a tree has blown up by a wind, it will make some space for sunlight to reach the bottom of the rainforest. This condition causes the growing of bushes and sapling, becoming a tall tree in the future. All those special phenomenon can be found only in the tropical rain forest.

Reflective Journal #FourthWeek

Liana Riani Ramli
Reflective Journal
February 24th, 2017

It's already four weeks I've written this blog. There are still two weeks more before the midterm examination. It means I still have to write another twelve posting. I can't say I'm tired with this, if I say it, I will get exhausted for real. Still, I'm very grateful to people who have commented on my blog for the previous four weeks.

This fourth week I use "Human Conflict" as the theme. I think every news always contains about human conflict inside. But after I thought about it some more, human conflict is quite rare topic in the news. I don't really like to write about political issue, it's too complicated. I used human trafficking, demo and other topics that related to human conflict. I'm not so sure if the articles I wrote are about human conflict, but I wish those will be still useful for all of you.

Ian Stewart, the Murderer of his Fiance

Liana Riani Ramli
Daily Journal
February 23rd, 2017

Helen Bailey, a famous author who wrote about teenager books, was found dead in a cesspit at her home. The culprit is her own fiance, Ian Stewart. He had denied murdering Helen Bailey at their home in Royston, Hertfordshire, in order to get his hands on her near-£4m fortune.  He was convicted at St Albans Crown Court following a seven-week trial. Wanting to inherit Ms Bailey's fortune, he had been secretly giving the author of the Electra Brown series of books sleeping drug zopiclone for weeks before he eventually smothered her with a pillow. On the day of the murder, April 11th last year, Stewart tried to change a standing order from Ms Bailey's account to the couple's joint account from £600 to £4,000 a month. He later tried to use power if attorney in order to sell a flat she had in Gateshead. He even reported Ms Bailey missing on April 15th. After three months later her body was found, having been pulled out of a "hard crust" of excrement inside the cesspit underneath the garage of their house. Steward was found guilty of preventing a lawful burial, fraud and three counts of perverting the course of justice. He will be sentenced soon.

NEET

Liana Riani Ramli
Daily Journal
February 22nd, 2017

A NEET is a young person who is not employed, not engaged in housework, not enrolled in school or job-related training, and not seeking work. The acronym NEET, Not in Education, Employment, or Training, was first used in the United Kingdom but its use has spread to other countries and regions including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the United States. Before the word NEET was spread in 1999, the phrase "status zero", which had an identical meaning, was used. The use of the term NEET became popular partly because of the negative connotations of having "no status" in economic activity on the part of young people. In the United Kingdom, the classification comprises people aged between 16 and 24 and In Japan between 15 and 34. A NEET can be counted as a patient of psychological illness, because human's definition is a spirit that caught in a body and has passions. If the passions is bigger than the spirit, it will cause psychological chaos to the NEET's personality. It's not a good thing to hear. NEET should stop themselves to be lazy and get themselves jobs, to get the better future.

"Today I am a Muslim, too"

Liana Riani Ramli
Daily Journal
February 21st, 2017

Thousands of demonstrators gathered at one of the world's most famous public places, Times Square, New York, to denounce what they see as threats and pressure aimed at Muslim communities. Donald Trump, the President of the United State of America, has made numerous disparaging remarks about Muslims and an appeals court recently put a halt to his executive order that temporarily barred all refugees and travelers from seven predominantly Muslim countries from entering the country. This policy has raised American's anger. On the last Sunday, February 19th, about 7,000 to 10,000 people attended the rally whose the speakers were from rabbis, imams, a Sikh, a Buddhist,, Episcopalian and Presbyterian reverends, a Mennonite, a Seventh Day Adventist minister, a Hindu, a Baptist pastor, local politicians and civil rights advocates. Representing myriad backgrounds and faiths, many of demonstrators hoisting placards featuring a woman in an American flag hijab with the caption "we the people are greater than fear", heeding a music mogul's calls to let Muslims know their fellow Americans stood by them. With this action, Muslims hope "Today I am a Muslim, too" could be a sense of togetherness and keep the resistance towards Trump's policy which harms Muslims and others.

TraffickCam Fights Againts Human Trafficking

Liana Riani Ramli
Daily Journals
February 20th, 2017

A new application has been found, in order to help people fight human trafficking. TraffickCam, a phone application provides pictures from more than 150,000 hotels could help police locate hotel rooms used for sex trafficking. Investigators often have troubles in searching location of the places that the sex traffickers used to sell the victims. With TraffickCam, investigators could use snapshots of hotel rooms to locate victims and prosecute sex traffickers. Why hotels? The US National Human Trafficking Hotline found hotels and motels to be a common venue for sex trafficking, with nearly 10 percent of known trafficking cases reported to them in 2016 taking place in a hotel or motel, believes the real figure is much higher. The idea of TraffickCam is that law enforcement agencies can then check adverts featuring suspected trafficking victims in hotel rooms against TraffickCam's database of photos. But even if the database identifies the location of a hotel, it's "luck of the draw" whether the victim is still there, because traffickers often post photographs from one location to advertise services in another. This app will only be able to narrow in on the exact location if enough photos are added to the database. That's why people are expected to participate to take action in fight human trafficking with this application.

Reflective Journals #ThirdWeek

Liana Riani Ramli
Reflective Journal
February 17th, 2017

Hi, everyone. Meet me again on my blog. Maybe this will be my weekly routine, thanking you all. Thank you very much for reading my blog. I'm sorry if there is still a mistake on my posts. I try to improve myself everyday.

This week theme, I've promised to myself, I used something I like to make those daily journals. I love Japanese culture, so I wrote bout Japan this whole week. But I only get 5 topics each week and I couldn't write something like opinion, so I didn't really enjoy writing this week journals. Especially the last daily journal I wrote. It's about anime. I really love anime, since I was a kid I've already sit down in front a screen and watch anime. But I couldn't write my thought about it, so I felt so sad I could only write about the fact. I actually wanted to add some other sentences, but it was already too much and this blog assignment is only let me write an exactly one paragraph, I ended up only write a little about anime.

I had some other topics I want to share about Japan, but I couldn't. There are too many ideas I want to write if it's about Japan. I will write about it a little here. One of them is about NEET. Every country has good sides and a bad sides too. Japan is a developed country, but there are still unemployed people in some areas in Japan. Some of them are youngster purposely let themselves jobless. NEET, Not Employment, Education, or Training. In Japan, usually the jobless people who decided to become NEETs only spend their time playing games or watching anime. It's really useless to waste your time, shut yourself in your room. I don't understand why people can do it. I really wanted to share about this topic, but I wanted to write about cheerful articles, not gloomy one. Maybe I'll write it next time.

It's About Anime

Liana Riani Ramli
Daily Journal
February 17th, 2017

What is the first impression when they hear word "Anime"? Some of them would say it's a animation,  a few people probably asked what kind of food anime is, and mostly Indonesian people would say, "I know it, anime is Naruto, isn't it?" Anime is animation, Japanese pronounce animation as animeshon, than shortened to anime. Anime is not only from Japan actually, but many people make a difference between animation from Japan and non-Japan. In fact, the first anime was made in 1917, but the characteristic of anime had been developed in 1960 and began to be known in the world wide in 1980. Anime has many audiences from all over the world. Due to of the creativity of making animation is unlimited, and Japanese always has unimaginable, anime has so many kinds of genres, like action, comedy, romance, school life, tragedy, sport, and many other genres. Some anime is adapted from the legend and true story. People should pay attention the genres of the anime before watch it. Just like films, anime has it own rate for the age. Some anime are made for children and teenager, and some need parental guidance, and the others for adult only. That's why you must be selective when you are going to watch anime, just to make sure you won't be sorry for knowing anime.

Every child likes snacks, starts from candies, chips, cookies, and etc. Japanese children also love those sweets. Dagashi, Japanese cheap snack food, means futile or negligible snacks. Due to the low price and fun packaging, those candies around 5 and 10 yen attract children with small allowances. Most dagashi are packaged in bright, childish wrapping and sometimes come with a small toy or prize. The toy are often small figurines, and a common prize is will allow the holder to claim a second free snack. A store which specially sell dagashi called dagashiya, but now convenience stores sell dagashi as well. Umaibo, the most popular dagashi in Japan, is an over-sized corn puff with a lot of different flavor. Unlike the other snacks. Umaibo flavoring isn't just throwing powder in the mix, but using other method, so Umaibo have different texture each flavor. Even they say Umaibo is "King of Dadashi". Are soft drinks also Dagashi? Yes! One of them is Ramune, a lemon-lime soda. The word Ramune is Japanese re-worked of the word "Lemonade". The bottle of Ramune is quite unique. The cod-ned bottles are sealed with a marble that is pushed down into the neck to open. The glass bottle is now considered a symbol of summer and is regularly sold at summer festivals. If you want to know more about Dagashi, but too lazy to search about them in internet, you can watch the anime "Dagashi Kashi". This anime takes dagasi as the main topic, so it fills with a lot of little trivia also some unknown fact about tasty things called dagashi.
